Privacy Policy

Effective: August 5, 2026

ScrollBrake is published by Dulawat Code and operated by Bhavar Singh Dulawat ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains how the ScrollBrake Android application accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.

Information you provide

If you choose Google Sign-In, Google and Firebase Authentication provide us with your account identifier, display name, email address, and profile image where available. Guest mode creates no cloud account.

If you voluntarily use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, service category, and message you submit so we can respond.

App activity and analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand app reliability and feature usage. Analytics events can include app opens, screen views, onboarding and permission progress, rule changes, enabled blocking modes, focus breaks, generic blocked-app package names, generic section labels such as Shorts or Reels, and device or app instance identifiers generated by Firebase. We do not use this information for advertising and do not sell it.

Accessibility and device access

ScrollBrake uses Android Accessibility solely to detect user-selected short-form sections or protected apps and perform the blocking action the user configured. Visible interface text may be inspected briefly in memory on the device. Full screen text, captions, messages, passwords, comments, usernames, and private content are not stored or uploaded.

Generic block records—including the protected package, app name, generic section label, block type, and time—are stored locally for dashboard statistics. Generic block events may also be sent to Firebase Analytics. Usage Access is used to determine the foreground app. Overlay access may be used to display the blocking experience. These permissions are enabled by the user in Android Settings and can be disabled at any time.

Local information

Blocking choices, schedules, strict-mode settings, focus-break state, permission progress, and recent block history are stored on the device. They can be cleared in ScrollBrake Settings or removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

Service providers and sharing

Google Firebase provides authentication, analytics, and Firestore storage for contact requests. Google processes information as our service provider under its applicable terms and privacy protections. We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

Firebase account information is retained until the account is deleted. Contact requests are retained only as needed to respond and maintain business records, and are deleted with the account when technically associated with it. Analytics information follows the retention settings and aggregation practices provided by Firebase. Local information remains until it is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Security

Network communication with Google Firebase uses encryption in transit. Access to cloud services is restricted through authentication and security rules. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information processed.

Children

ScrollBrake is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
